Nobody makes a promise like that unless they are sure. We are.

Hey, we’re your coaches: Carmen Sanz.

Carmen Sanz, RallyUp Pickleball coach

We're a husband-and-wife coaching team, both certified. Carmen grew up in Spain playing every sport she could find, and pickleball is the one that never let go. Together we run one of the East Bay's busiest pickleball programs — clinics, leagues, and camps every week at Lafayette Tennis Club, most of them full of people who picked up a paddle for the first time this year.

We never coach a camp solo — you get both of us on court all morning, so sixteen players still get small-group attention. Plenty of people show up nervous about being the new one. That's exactly who this day is for.

She clearly identified my strengths and weaknesses and gave me a practical roadmap for improvement. Now I have a clear plan and can practice with purpose.

Pete is an excellent pickleball instructor. He's patient, positive, and made me feel confident as an older beginner.

What actually makes this work.

Someone finally watches you

Two coaches, 16 players. You get told what you’re doing wrong, out loud, in the first half hour.

Drilling at match pace

Not standing in a line waiting for a turn. You hit the same shot until it holds up under pressure.

Everyone is on your wall

Beginner · no rating required only. No one to hide behind, nobody to carry. Every rep is at your level.

You leave with people to play

Players your standard, in your area, who all just spent a Sunday doing the same thing.

Let’s deal with the buts.

"$249 is a lot for one day"
It’s one day. Four hours of two-coach instruction at private rates is $480 on its own. Split across a year of play that’s about $4 a week, and the alternative is another year of paying nothing and staying where you are.
"I could just take a private lesson"
You could, and you’d get about two hours for the same money, with nobody at your level to drill live points against.
"I’m not sure I’m good enough"
If you rally consistently, serve in, and play doubles socially, you’re in the band. Everyone in the room is on the same wall. Call us and we’ll tell you straight.
"What if it’s too basic for me?"
Beginner · no rating required only, and we sort by level in the first 15 minutes. Nobody spends the day on drills they’ve outgrown.
"What if something comes up?"
Your seat moves to any future camp. Just email us.
"I’d rather just play more"
That’s what the last year was. Rec games reward the habits that are capping you, which is why more of them makes the ceiling harder, not softer.

The practical stuff.

Where exactly?
Lafayette Tennis Club, 3125 Camino Diablo, Lafayette, CA · outdoor courts
What do I bring?
Court shoes and water. Paddles and balls provided if you don’t have your own.
What if it rains?
We'll be in touch with you directly if the weather turns.
Can I come with a friend?
Yes. Give us a call and we’ll sort you both out.
Will I actually get attention with 16 players?
Yes. There are two coaches on court all morning, Carmen and her husband Bennett, so it works out to eight players per coach. That's the same attention as our 8-player camps, with a bigger group to play real points against.
Won't it be cold on a November morning?
It can be crisp at 8:30, so wear a layer you can take off. Once the warm-up starts you'll be moving the whole time, and you're done by 12:30.
Where exactly is it?
Lafayette Tennis Club, 3125 Camino Diablo in Lafayette. Free parking on site, with restrooms and seating in the clubhouse.
