Nobody makes a promise like that unless they are sure. We are.

Hey, I’m your coach: Amy Andreasen.

Amy Andreasen, RallyUp Pickleball coach
15 yrsA PE Teacher
CotoHer Home Courts

I taught physical education for fifteen years. Fifteen years of standing in front of people who had never done the thing I was about to teach them, and getting them doing it before the lesson was out. That is the actual skill, and it is the one I brought to this sport.

I have been playing pickleball for five years and coaching it at Coto Pickleball Club, where this camp is held. These are my home courts. On Saturday, October 17 you are not getting someone who drove in for the morning, you are getting the coach who is on these courts every week.

On the day there are eight of you and one of me for four hours. Eight is small enough that I watch every single person play, more than once, and tell you what is actually costing you points instead of handing round advice that fits nobody.

Most people arrive a little nervous about being the worst one there. Nobody is. Everyone is starting in the same place, and by the end of the morning you will be playing real points and enjoying it.

She clearly identified my strengths and weaknesses and gave me a practical roadmap for improvement. Now I have a clear plan and can practice with purpose.

Pete is an excellent pickleball instructor. He's patient, positive, and made me feel confident as an older beginner.

What actually makes this work.

Someone finally watches you

One coach, 8 players. You get told what you’re doing wrong, out loud, in the first half hour.

Drilling at match pace

Not standing in a line waiting for a turn. You hit the same shot until it holds up under pressure.

Everyone is on your wall

Beginner · no rating required only. No one to hide behind, nobody to carry. Every rep is at your level.

You leave with people to play

Players your standard, in your area, who all just spent a Saturday doing the same thing.

Let’s deal with the buts.

"$249 is a lot for one day"
It’s one day. Four hours of coaching at private-lesson rates is $480 on its own. Split across a year of play that’s about $4 a week, and the alternative is another year of paying nothing and staying where you are.
"I could just take a private lesson"
You could, and you’d get about two hours for the same money, with nobody at your level to drill live points against.
"I’m not sure I’m good enough"
If you rally consistently, serve in, and play doubles socially, you’re in the band. Everyone in the room is on the same wall. Call us and we’ll tell you straight.
"What if it’s too basic for me?"
Beginner · no rating required only, and we sort by level in the first 15 minutes. Nobody spends the day on drills they’ve outgrown.
"What if something comes up?"
Your seat moves to any future camp. Just email us.
"I’d rather just play more"
That’s what the last year was. Rec games reward the habits that are capping you, which is why more of them makes the ceiling harder, not softer.

The practical stuff.

Where exactly?
Coto Pickleball Club, 23443 Avenue La Caza, Trabuco Canyon, CA 92679 · 12 outdoor courts
What do I bring?
Court shoes and water. Paddles and balls provided if you don’t have your own.
What if it rains?
We'll be in touch with you directly if the weather turns.
Can I come with a friend?
Yes. Give us a call and we’ll sort you both out.
Coto de Caza is gated. Can I even get in if I don't live there?
Yes. The club is inside the gate but it is open to everyone, residents and non-residents alike. Drive up to the gate, say you are there for pickleball at Coto Pickle, and they will point you to the courts. You do not need to be a member and you do not need to live there.
I'm in Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita or Ladera. How far is this?
Ten to fifteen minutes from any of them. Coto Pickleball Club is on Avenue La Caza with parking on site.
Isn't October still warm in Orange County?
Mornings are the best part of the day this time of year, which is why the camp runs 8 to 12. You are on court early and finished before the heat. Bring a hat, sunscreen and water.
